Scope
This document specifies the test principles, test materials, reference substances/reference materials, test methods, test procedures, quality assurance and quality control, data, and reports for testing the leaching characteristics of test chemicals in soil columns. This document is applicable to evaluating the potential of low-volatile chemicals (including radioactive tracers or non-tracers, such as 14C) with sufficient accuracy and sensitivity in soil analysis methods to transform and migrate (leach) into deep soil layers. This document is not applicable to chemicals that can evaporate from soil and water under test conditions, resulting in their inability to remain in the soil or leachate.
