本标准规定了锻制钢棒（圆钢、方钢、扁钢）的截面形状、截面尺寸、重量及允许偏差、长度及允许偏差、外形等。
本标准适用于直径为40 mm～1 000 mm的锻制圆钢，边长为40 mm～1 000 mm的锻制方钢，以及厚度为20 mm～800 mm、宽度为40 mm～1 500 mm的扁钢。
