GB/T 15852.1-2008 Information technology—Security techniques—Message Authentication Codes(MACs)—Part 1:Mechanisms using a block cipher
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 15852 specifies six message authentication code algorithms using block ciphers. These message authentication code algorithms can be used for data integrity verification to check whether the data has been unauthorizedly modified. Similarly, these message authentication code algorithms can also be used for message authentication to ensure the legitimacy of the message source. The strength of data integrity and message authentication depends on the length of the key and its confidentiality, the algorithm strength of the block cipher, the block length, the length of the message authentication code, and the specific message authentication code algorithm. This part is applicable to any security architecture, process, and application's security services.
