Scope

This document specifies the following:
a) The dimensions of S1 and S2 biometric cards;
b) The location and dimensions of biometric capture devices;
c) The type of biometric sensors on the cards;
d) The minimum requirements of the biometric system on the cards for the following aspects:
1) Mechanical durability;
2) Human-computer interface and ergonomics.
The standardization of other devices on the cards, such as electronic displays or keyboards, is not within the scope of this document.
This document applies to the design, production, testing, and use of biometric identification cards.
