Scope

This document specifies the test purpose, test conditions, test content and requirements, evaluation of test results, and test reports for the pressure test of submersibles and their pressure-bearing equipment.
This document is applicable to the short-term hydrostatic external pressure test of submersibles and their pressure-bearing equipment. The short-term hydrostatic external pressure test of other underwater devices and their pressure-bearing equipment can be carried out in accordance with this document.
Note 1: Submersibles and their pressure-bearing equipment include equipment components that withstand external pressure on submersibles, submersible systems or equipment with certain functions, and equipment components such as pressure-resistant shells, buoyancy blocks, composite light outer shells, oil-filled pressure-bearing equipment, and watertight connectors and cables.
Note 2: The short-term hydrostatic external pressure test is an external pressure test that does not consider the effects of inertia and acceleration, uses water as the test medium, and maintains the test pressure for less than 24 hours.
