This part of GB/T 1844 specifies the abbreviations for basic polymers used in plastics, the symbols that make up these terms, and the symbols used for the characteristic properties of plastics. This part only includes abbreviations with defined uses, and its purpose is twofold: to prevent multiple abbreviations for a given plastic and to prevent a given abbreviation from having multiple interpretations.
