Scope
This section specifies the requirements for indicating safety information to exposed personnel through visual, auditory, and tactile methods in the human-machine interface.
This section specifies the methods of color, safety signs, markings, and other warnings, which are designed to indicate dangerous states, harm to health, and dealing with accidents. To promote the safe use and monitoring of machinery, it also specifies the coding methods of visual, auditory, and tactile signals used in indicators and actuators.
This section is based on IEC 60073 for color coding and alternative methods, but is not limited to the electrical field.
