Scope

This standard specifies the test methods for simulating the natural aging effects of soft and hard foam polymers, such as oxidation or hydrolysis caused by moisture, in laboratories. The effects of aging are characterized by measuring the relevant physical and mechanical properties before and after aging. This standard applies to open-cell latex, open-cell polyurethane foams, closed-cell polyurethane foams, closed-cell polyolefin foams. The test conditions for other materials shall be supplemented as necessary.
