GB/T 30834-2014 Standard test methods for rating and classifying inclusions in steel—Scanning electron microscope
Basic Information
Scope
〖STFZ〗1.1〖STBZ〗 This standard introduces the procedure for using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to conduct size distribution statistics, chemical classification, and grading of non-metallic inclusions in steel. The scanning electron microscope is equipped with X-ray energy spectroscopy and automatic image analysis functions.
〖STFZ〗1.2〖STBZ〗 This standard recommends three inspection methods. Method One mainly classifies inclusions based on their morphology. Method Two mainly classifies inclusions based on their chemical composition. Methods One and Two are suitable for the microscopic evaluation of non-metallic inclusions larger than 2 μm in rolled or forged steel with a compression ratio greater than or equal to 3. Method Three is used to determine the specific details of a certain type of inclusions, such as volume fraction and quantity fraction, etc., and is suitable for the statistical classification of all sizes (including those smaller than 2 μm) of inclusions in various cast blanks or steel products.
〖STFZ〗1.3〖STBZ〗 This standard is only a recommended method for inspecting non-metallic inclusions and does not specify the acceptance criteria for any steel grade.
〖STFZ〗1.4〖STBZ〗 This standard does not address safety issues related to its application. It is the responsibility of the user to establish proper safety and health regulations and to determine the applicability of these regulations before applying this standard.
