GB/T 3480.1-2019 Calculation of load capacity of spur and helical gears—Part 1:Basic principles, introduction and general influence factors
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 3480 introduces the basic principles, overview, and general impact factors for calculating the bearing capacity of spur gears and helical gears. Together with ISO 6336-2, ISO 6336-3, ISO 6336-5, and ISO 6336-6, it provides a method for comparing different gear designs. It is not intended for ensuring the performance of assembled gear systems, nor is it intended for general engineers, but rather for experienced gear designers who can reasonably select coefficients in the formula based on their knowledge of similar designs and understand the impact of each selection on the calculation results.
The formulas in GB/T 3480 are proposed to provide a widely accepted method for calculating the contact strength of the tooth surface and the bending strength of the tooth root of involute cylindrical spur gears or helical gears.
GB/T 3480 incorporates the results of experimental and theoretical research by individuals such as Hirt[1], Strasser[2], and Brossmann[3]. The results calculated using this method are quite consistent with those of previously acceptable calculation methods (for cases where the normal working pressure angle does not exceed 25° and the pitch circle helix angle does not exceed 25°, see references [4]–[8]).
