Scope

This standard specifies the ordering content, classification, grade designation method, dimensions, shape, weight, and allowable deviations of hot-rolled steel sections with improved welding performance; technical requirements; test methods; inspection rules; packaging; marking; and quality certificates. This standard applies to hot-rolled H-section steel with improved welding performance (hereinafter referred to as "H-section steel") produced by the quenching and self-tempering process (QST). Other hot-rolled steel sections may also refer to this standard.
