Scope

This part of GB 30439 specifies the safety requirements for panel-mounted digital display instruments, including protection against electric shock, mechanical hazards, resistance to mechanical impact and shock, prevention of flame spread, temperature limits of equipment, and heat resistance.
This part does not include the functions, performance, or other characteristics of equipment that are not related to safety, the effectiveness of transport packaging, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements, functional safety, protective measures against explosive environments, maintenance (repair), or the protection of maintenance (repair) personnel.
This part applies to panel-mounted digital display instruments for industrial process signals (hereinafter referred to as digital display instruments).
