Scope

This document specifies the performance characteristics of multi-channel phased array ultrasonic detectors using phased array probes, as well as the methods for their measurement and verification. Some of the inspection methods in this document are applicable to phased array ultrasonic detectors in automatic detection systems, but additional tests are required to ensure their performance. When phased array ultrasonic detectors are used in automatic detection systems, relevant parties may modify the acceptance criteria specified in this document in accordance with agreements. This document is also partially applicable to FMC instruments and TFM instruments. This document applies to phased array ultrasonic detectors with a detection frequency range of 0.5 MHz to 10.0 MHz.
