GB/T 2893的本部分规定了产品安全标签的设计原则，包括安全色的使用、危险程度区的构图、不同类型产品安全标签的构图等，并在附录中给出了提升产品安全标签可识别性的指导原则和产品安全标签的设计示例等参考资料。
本部分规定的产品安全标签适用于可能发生与安全相关问题的所有产品。但是，本部分规定的产品安全标签不适用于：
——化学品；
——危险物质和制剂的运输；
——已有相关法规约束且法规内容与本文件某些条款不同的行业。
