Scope

This standard specifies the basic principles, risk assessment procedures, and document requirements for the life cycle risk assessment of industrial robots, and provides examples of hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk reduction for industrial robots and AGVs.
This standard is applicable to the risk assessment of industrial robots throughout their life cycle. The safety principles established in this standard can be referenced by other types of robots.
This standard does not include risk assessment for the integration of industrial robot systems. For specific applications (such as welding, laser cutting, machining, etc.), additional hazards may arise, and these hazards should be subject to targeted risk assessments.
