Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, circuit breaker characteristics, product information, normal operation, installation and transportation conditions, structural requirements, performance requirements, and test methods for DC circuit breakers used in photovoltaic (PV) systems. This standard stipulates: -- Requirements for DC circuit breakers used in PV systems; -- Tests to verify the performance and durability of products in PV environments. This standard applies to DC circuit breakers with a rated voltage not exceeding 1,500 V, intended for use in PV systems, hereinafter referred to as "PV circuit breakers". The electrical performance, environmental and operating conditions of DC circuit breakers used in PV systems differ from the general circuit breaker conditions specified in GB 14048.2.
