Scope
This document specifies the classification of heat treatment furnaces by temperature uniformity, the requirements for initial and periodic measurement of the effective heating zone, testing systems, testing methods, result evaluation, recordkeeping and reporting, and management. This document is applicable to determining the effective heating zone of heat treatment furnaces that meet the temperature uniformity requirements within the operating temperature range. This document is not applicable to heating zones in continuous heating furnaces that do not have fixed process-specified heating temperatures or do not require temperature uniformity. Other heating equipment may refer to and implement this document accordingly.
