GB/T 13140.5-2008 Connecting devices for low-voltage circuits for household and similar purposes—Part 2:Particular requirements for twist-on connecting devices
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB 13140 is applicable to twist-on connectors (abbreviated as TOCD, same below) used to connect two or more untreated hard and/or soft copper wires. The connected wires shall comply with the requirements of GB 3956—1997, with a wire cross-sectional area ranging from 0.5 mm2 to 16 mm2 (inclusive), and the total cross-sectional area of the wires shall not exceed 35 mm2.
The TOCD described in this part is suitable for low-voltage circuits with a voltage not exceeding 1,000 V (AC) and 1,500 V (DC) for household and similar applications.
The TOCD described in this part is primarily designed for manual operation, but for certain TOCDs, such as those used to connect wires with large cross-sectional areas, the use of specialized tools may be required.
