Scope

This part of GB/T 5169 specifies the glow-wire device and general test methods, which use simulation technology to evaluate the fire hazard caused by heat stress from heat sources such as glow elements or overload resistors in a short period of time. The tests described in this part are applicable to electrical equipment, its components and parts, as well as solid electrical insulating materials or other solid combustible materials. One of the tasks of the Standardization Technical Committee is to use these basic safety publications wherever applicable when preparing its own publications.
