Scope

This part of GB/T 20257 specifies the symbols and annotations of various landforms and geomorphological elements shown on 1:25,000, 1:50,000, and 1:100,000 topographic maps, as well as the standards for their grades, specifications, and colors, the specifications for map decoration, and the principles, requirements, and basic methods for using these symbols.
This part is applicable to the mapping of 1:25,000, 1:50,000, and 1:100,000 topographic maps, and it is also the basic basis for various departments to use topographic maps for planning, design, and scientific research. The preparation of geographic base maps for other types of maps can be referenced for use.
