Scope
This section addresses the risk of burns that may occur when human bodies come into contact with the hot surfaces of electrical equipment, proposes principles for taking protective measures and reassessing these measures, and provides examples of protective measures.
This section is applicable to the guidance on implementing protective measures when assessing the risk of burns from hot surfaces of electrical equipment.
This section can also provide a basis for technical committees, regulatory authorities, or engineering designers to determine specific burn protection measures.
The provisions of specific protective measures are not within the scope of consideration in this section.
