Scope
This document specifies a method for measuring the linear mechanical impedance and other frequency response functions of structures such as buildings, machines, and vehicles using a connected exciter for single-point translational excitation.
This document is applicable to the measurement of impedance, acceleration, or displacement, whether it is a driving point measurement or a transfer measurement. It is also suitable for determining the reciprocals of these ratios, such as the free effective mass. Although a single-point excitation is used, there is no limit to the number of motion responses that can be measured simultaneously. For example, multi-point response measurements required for modal analysis are also applicable.
