Scope

This standard specifies the performance, test methods, control systems, control forces, and component strength of the braking systems installed on the following industrial vehicles defined in ISO 5053:
——Various types of motorized industrial vehicles with lifting/loading capacities;
——Industrial tractors with a rated traction force of no more than 20,000 N;
——Carrying vehicles;
——Motorized industrial vehicles for transporting containers.
This standard does not apply to situations of power failure or any other auxiliary power interruption, nor to braking in emergency situations (such as activating emergency switches or shutting down control systems).
This standard applies to industrial vehicles manufactured after the publication of this standard (hereinafter referred to as "vehicles").
