Scope

This document specifies the performance, test methods, control devices, control forces, and component strength of the braking systems installed on the following industrial vehicles defined in ISO 5053-1:
—— Various types of motorized industrial vehicles with different lifting/carrying capacities;
—— Tractors and push-pull vehicles (hereinafter referred to as "industrial tractors") with a hook traction force not exceeding 66,750 N;
—— Cargo carriers;
—— Industrial vehicles for transporting freight containers.
This document does not apply to situations where the power supply is cut off or any other auxiliary power supply fails, nor does it apply to braking in emergency situations (such as activating the emergency switch or shutting down the control system).
This document only applies to newly manufactured vehicles.
