Scope

1.1 This document specifies the safety guidelines for new passenger elevators and freight elevators permanently installed in existing buildings, which cannot meet certain requirements of GB/T 7588.1—2020 due to building restrictions.
This document lists these restrictions and provides requirements for solutions:
a) Perforated elevator shaft walls;
b) Small shaft dimensions resulting in a reduced distance between the car and the counterweight (or balance weight);
c) Counterweight (or balance weight) located within a separate shaft;
d) Reduced building dimensions and spacing, leading to:
——Reduced space in the top floor and pit;
——Reduced dimensions of the car roof guardrail;
——Reduced height of the car skirting board;
——Reduced height of the machine room and/or pulley room;
——Reduced area of the maintenance door or hatch;
——Reduced height of the floor door.
