Scope

This standard specifies a test method for evaluating the degree of paint film peeling from the substrate when the paint film is scratched with an overlapping circular line pattern. This standard is applicable to the determination of the peeling degree of a single flat paint film on a hard substrate by a circle scratch test. The performance measured by this empirical test method not only depends on the adhesion of the coating to the substrate, but also on various other factors. Therefore, this test method cannot be regarded as a method for measuring adhesion.
