Scope

This part of GB/T 18663 specifies the electromagnetic shielding performance test of empty cabinets and plug-in boxes in the frequency range of 30 MHz to 3,000 MHz, and stipulates the selected attenuation values for the shielding performance grades of cabinets and plug-in boxes in the IEC 60297 (all parts) and IEC 60917 (all parts) series. The shielding performance grades are selected according to the requirements of typical fields in industrial applications, and this measurement supports electromagnetic compatibility, but it cannot replace the final conformity test of the cabinet equipped with equipment.
The purpose of this part is to ensure the physical integrity and environmental performance of cabinets and plug-in boxes, taking into account the needs of different performance grades in different applications, aiming to give users confidence in choosing products to meet their specific needs. This part is only fully or partially applicable to empty cabinets, such as cabinets and plug-in boxes that comply with IEC 60297 (all parts) and IEC 60917 (all parts), and is not applicable to cabinets after the installation of electronic equipment. The cabinets can be tested in the same way as the plug-in boxes, and the boxes can be tested in the same way as the cabinets.
This part is closely related to IEC 61000-5-7, but it pays special attention to cabinets and plug-in boxes and the determination of performance grades in the selected frequency range.
