Scope

This document applies to all rotating electric motors except for those used in railroad locomotives and road vehicles covered by the IEC 60349 series of standards.
The motors within the scope of this document can also meet the requirements of other national standards and IEC standards that have been replaced, modified, or supplemented, such as IEC 60079 and IEC 60092.
Note: If certain provisions of this document need to be modified for special purposes, such as radiation-resistant motors or aerospace motors, all other provisions will still be valid when they can be applied.
