Scope
This standard specifies the requirements for disposable intravenous infusion needles (hereinafter referred to as "infusion needles") with a nominal outer diameter of 0.36 mm to 1.2 mm, to ensure their compatibility with corresponding gravity infusion pumps, pressure infusion equipment, or blood transfusion devices.
This standard provides guidelines for the performance and quality specifications of the materials used in infusion needles.
Chapters 3 to 8, including 8.1 and 8.3, of this standard set out the quality specifications for infusion needles supplied with infusion pumps and blood transfusion devices.
