GB/T 39851.2-2021 Road vehicles—Diagnostic communication over Controller Area Network (DoCAN) —Part 2:Transport protocol and network layer services
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 39851 specifies the transport layer protocol and network layer services for the in-vehicle CAN network system (ISO 11898-1:2015), which is based on the diagnostic services defined in ISO 14229-1 and ISO 15031-5.
This part is applicable to the diagnostic services defined in ISO 14229-1 and ISO 15031-5, as well as to other in-vehicle network communications.
ISO 11898-1:2015 describes CAN frames of various lengths, the maximum payload size of which depends on the protocol used by the device. CLASSICAL CAN protocol devices can send and receive frames with a payload size of (0 to 8) bytes. CAN FD (Flexible Data Rate) protocol devices can send and receive frames with a payload size of (0 to 64) bytes. CAN FD protocol devices can also send and receive CLASSICAL CAN frames.
The diagnostic communication protocol based on Controller Area Network (DoCAN) supports the standard service primitive interface specified in ISO 14229-2.
The transport protocol and network layer services provided in this part support applications in different application layers, such as:
——Enhanced in-vehicle diagnostics (diagnostics of emission-related systems beyond statutory functions and diagnostics of non-emission-related systems);
——Emission-related in-vehicle diagnostic systems (OBD) specified in ISO 15031;
——Global harmonized in-vehicle diagnostic systems (WWH-OBD) specified in ISO 27145;
——Activation of the end-of-life period for in-vehicle ignition devices specified in ISO 26021-1.
The transport layer protocol does not define a specific communication type.
