Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, general requirements, comparison samples, flaw detection devices, detection methods, detection records, and defect evaluation for the automatic electromagnetic ultrasonic inspection of thick steel plates. This standard applies to the automatic electromagnetic ultrasonic inspection of steel plates with a thickness of not less than 6 mm, used in boilers, pressure vessels, bridges, buildings, shipbuilding, pipelines, molds, and other applications. Steel plates of other specifications can be implemented in accordance with this standard.
