Scope

This part of GB/T 5019 specifies the classification, performance requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of mica tapes bonded with glass cloth and film-reinforced epoxy resin used in vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI).
This part applies to mica tapes that use mica paper as the base material, epoxy adhesive resin as the adhesive, and electrical-grade alkali-free glass cloth or film as the reinforcing material on one or both sides. These tapes are soft under normal conditions and are cured by a vacuum pressure impregnation insulation process using a compatible impregnation resin. The final curing performance of the material mainly depends on the vacuum pressure impregnation resin used.
