Scope

This document specifies the testing principles, testing methods, qualifications of testing personnel, testing equipment and materials, implementation of testing, as well as the evaluation of comparison samples and testing results, testing records, and testing reports for the ultrasonic testing of the surface of cold-drawn round steel.
This document is applicable to the ultrasonic testing of the surface and near-surface longitudinal discontinuities of cold-drawn round steel with a diameter of 6 mm to 80 mm. The ultrasonic testing of other round steel processed into a silver-bright surface after hot rolling can also be carried out in accordance with this document.
