Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the total sulfur, total organic sulfur, and elemental sulfur in gases using a gas chromatograph with a flame photometric detector (FPD).
This standard is applicable to the determination of total sulfur, total organic sulfur, and elemental sulfur in gases such as hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, methanol synthesis gas, ammonia synthesis gas, dry natural gas, and coke oven gas. The total sulfur determination range (in terms of sulfur) is 0.07 mg/m3 to 2 mg/m3, and the elemental sulfur determination range (in terms of sulfur in hydrogen sulfide) is 0.07 mg/m3 to 7 mg/m3.
