This document describes the methods for specifying and evaluating the navigation performance of mobile service robots. The navigation performance in this document is determined by the accuracy and repeatability of the pose, as well as the ability to detect and avoid obstacles. Other methods of evaluating navigation performance are also available, but they are not included in this document. The performance and related testing methods in this document are only applicable to mobile platforms that come into contact with the traveling surface. ISO 9283 is applicable to the performance evaluation of manipulators. This document is only applicable to indoor environments. However, as described in Appendix A, the tests are applicable to robots used in outdoor environments. This document is not applicable to the verification and confirmation of safety requirements. This document does not address the safety requirements of the testers during the testing process.
