Scope

This document sets forth the safety requirements and measures for horizontal sawing machines (defined in 3.1) that are equipped with a saw base installed below the workpiece support, feature manual loading and/or automatic loading and manual unloading, and are capable of continuous processing.
This document addresses all major hazards, dangerous situations, and events associated with the machine as listed in Appendix A (List of Hazards) when the machine is operated, adjusted, and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications, and also includes reasonably foreseeable misuse scenarios. Additionally, the document takes into account the hazards during the transportation, assembly, disassembly, decommissioning, and scrapping stages.
