GB/T 27612.3-2023 Agricultural irrigation equipment—Sprinklers—Part 3:Characterization of distribution and test methods

Scope

This document specifies the test conditions and methods for the water distribution characteristics of sprinklers used in agricultural irrigation.
The sprinklers specified in this document are broadly defined and cover a wide range of sprinkler products. This document is applicable to the testing of water distribution uniformity, spray radius, and spray height of all types of irrigation sprinklers. To verify the manufacturer's specified sprinkler design performance, measurements of the above three performance parameters are required.
This document mainly includes indoor and outdoor rain gauges with radiation layout and rain gauges with square grid layout. First, there are common conditions for all tests, then there are unique conditions for indoor tests only, and finally there are unique conditions for outdoor tests only.
For any given sprinkler, due to the diversity of nozzle structures, working conditions, and adjustment methods, a large number of related tests are required, at least in theory. On the premise that the test accuracy meets the requirements, testing agencies and manufacturers can use interpolation techniques to reduce the actual number of tests.
This document does not involve specific performance tests for sprinklers used for frost protection.
This document also does not address issues such as droplet spectral measurement and characteristics, soil compaction, fog droplet drift, and evaporation loss, which can all be considered in the design of sprinkler irrigation systems.
This document is used to evaluate the irrigation range of identical sprinklers arranged in a fixed, repetitive geometric pattern. This document is not applicable to mobile irrigation systems.
If the testing agency can handle potential abnormalities in the performance parameters, this document is applicable to sector sprinklers.
