GB/T 18029.30-2024 Wheelchairs—Part 30:Wheelchairs for changing occupant posture—Test methods and requirements

Scope

This document specifies the test methods and safety and performance requirements for manual and/or electric wheelchairs that can be operated by passengers or caregivers during normal use to change the passenger's posture by manual or electric means. These changes include backrest reclining, seat tilting, lifting, and standing, or a combination of them. To achieve these functions, the wheelchair requires additional mechanisms and mechanical structures. This document specifies the need to evaluate the adjustable range and configuration of different functions and strength tests for wheelchairs. This document does not apply to wheelchairs with adjustable body support systems that are only limb or head support devices (e.g., elevated leg supports). This document does not apply to wheelchairs customized or set up for individual passengers. This document also does not reflect other factors that affect the stability of wheelchairs, such as passenger movement, cushion thickness, and the addition of auxiliary equipment (e.g., respiratory support facilities).
