GB/T 25915.17-2024 Cleanrooms and associated controlled environments—Part 17:Particle deposition rate applications

Scope

As part of the pollution control plan, this document provides guidance on the interpretation and application of the particle deposition rate (PDR) measurements on vulnerable surfaces in cleanrooms. It discusses the factors affecting PDR and methods for reducing the risk of particle contamination on vulnerable surfaces. This document provides methods for measuring PDR in cleanrooms to determine acceptable concentration limits for large particles on vulnerable surfaces and risk assessment methods. It also helps determine the acceptable risk of particle deposition on vulnerable surfaces. When the risk is unacceptable, cleanroom control measures are needed to reduce PDR. Particle obscuration rate (POR), an alternative to PDR, is defined as the rate at which particles accumulate on a surface over time. POR is used in a similar way to PDR and is also used to calculate the required POR for a specified surface to reduce the risk of deposited particles. This document: — Does not provide a method for grading cleanrooms based on PDR or POR; — Does not directly consider the activity of deposited microbial particles; — Does not consider surface deposition caused by contact, such as contamination from personnel touching products.
