Scope

This standard specifies the measurement method for the light scattering and light absorption coefficients of paper, cardboard, and pulp based on the Kubelka-Munk theory.
This standard is applicable to uncoated white or near-white paper or cardboard and pulp with an opacity of less than 95%.
Note: When measuring samples containing fluorescent whitening agents with this standard, use the 420 nm ultraviolet cutoff filter on the instrument to eliminate all fluorescent excitation.
