Scope

This document specifies the test method for exposing samples in a test equipment configured with xenon arc lamps, heat, and humidity, which simulates the actual use environment of total solar radiation or solar radiation through window glass, allowing materials to produce effects similar to natural aging during exposure. This document is applicable to laboratory accelerated climate aging tests of plastic samples exposed to filtered xenon arc lamps under controlled environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and/or wetting). Different types of xenon arc lamps and filters can be combined to meet different test requirements. The preparation of samples and evaluation of results for specific materials refer to other standards. ISO 48921 provides the general principles of this document.
