Scope
This document specifies the minimum requirements for dynamic positioning (DP) systems on large yachts used for recreational purposes (i.e., non-mission-critical, short duration, and mild weather conditions). This standard provides the minimum requirements for equipment, as well as calculation methods for quantifying DP positioning performance, and provides guidance on testing and personnel requirements.
This document is applicable to the quality assessment and acceptance of DP positioning systems on large yachts.
