Scope

This document specifies the safety requirements for electric heating blankets, electric mattress pads, and similar devices for household and similar purposes.
This document applies to electric heating blankets, electric mattress pads, and similar devices for household and similar purposes, with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V. This document also applies to the main units provided with the devices.
This document addresses common hazards posed by the devices to all individuals in and around residential areas. However, this document generally does not consider the following situations:
——The following groups (including children): ● Due to physical, sensory, or mental disabilities; or ● Due to a lack of experience and knowledge, which may lead to unsafe use of the devices without supervision or guidance.
——Children playing with the devices.
Note 101: Pay attention to the following situations: ——For devices intended for use in moving vehicles, ships, or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary; ——National regulatory authorities may impose additional requirements on the devices; ——National authorities may have regulations on the installation of equipment connected to water sources.
Note 102: This document does not apply to: ——Electric blankets (GB/T 4706.8); ——Waterbed heaters (GB/T 4706.58).
