Scope

This standard specifies the safety requirements for ropes and drawstrings used on infants and children's clothing aged 14 and under.
This standard applies to ropes and drawstrings used on infants and children's clothing aged 14 and under.
This standard does not apply to the following situations:
—— Childcare supplies, such as bibs, diapers, or pacifier loops;
—— Shoes, boots, and similar products;
—— Gloves, hats, scarves;
—— Ties worn with shirts under adult supervision in formal occasions such as schools and celebrations;
—— Except for belts, suspenders, and knotted belts;
—— Religious clothing;
—— Festive clothing worn for a limited time and under supervision, such as clothing worn in folk or religious ceremonies, national or regional festivals;
—— Professional sportswear and clothing worn during exercise, such as rugby shorts, diving suits, and dance costumes, except for clothing worn in daily life, such as sports jerseys and swimsuits, bikinis, swimming trunks, and surf shorts worn on the beach and in summer without supervision;
—— Costumes worn during performances;
—— Aprons worn during the day, for a limited time, and under supervision to prevent clothing from getting dirty during painting, cooking, or dining;
—— Bag products.
