GB/T 7260.1-2023 Uninterruptible power systems (UPS)—Part 1:Safety requirements

Scope

This document applies to portable, semi-portable, fixed-installation, or built-in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems intended for low-voltage distribution systems, which are installed in areas accessible to the general public or in restricted-access areas (if applicable). These systems include energy storage devices and output AC voltage at a fixed frequency, with a terminal voltage not exceeding 1,000 V AC or 1,500 V DC. This document applies to plug-in or permanently connected UPS systems installed, operated, and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications, whether they consist of interconnected units or standalone units.
Note 1: IEC 62040-3 describes typical UPS configurations, including voltage and/or frequency converters and other topologies.
Note 2: UPS systems are typically connected to their energy storage devices via a DC link. This document uses chemical batteries as an example of energy storage devices. Alternative devices exist, so "batteries" in this document refer to "energy storage devices".
This document specifies requirements to ensure the safety of personnel who come into contact with UPS systems, as well as skilled technicians (if specified), with the aim of reducing the risk of fire, electric shock, heat, energy, and mechanical hazards during use and operation, as well as during maintenance and repair as specified in the document.
This document is coordinated with the applicable parts of the multi-disciplinary common safety publication IEC 62477-1:2012 for power electronic converter systems and includes additional requirements related to UPS systems.
