GB/T 7260.1-2008 Uninterruptible power systems(UPS)—Part 1-1:General and safety requirements for UPS used in operator access areas
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB 7260 applies to electronic uninterruptible power supply (UPS) equipment with energy storage devices in the DC circuit. This part references the relevant content of GB 4943-2001 and IEC 60950-1:2001.
The main function of the UPS equipment covered by this part is to ensure the continuity of AC power output. UPS can also maintain the specified characteristics of the power supply, thereby improving the quality of the power supply. The notes on regional differences in the relevant sections of GB 4943-2001 and IEC 609501:2001 also apply.
This part applies to mobile, stationary, fixed, or built-in UPS intended for installation in areas accessible to operators and used in low-voltage distribution systems. This part specifies the requirements for ensuring the safety of operators and laypeople who may come into contact with the equipment. When specifically stated, it also applies to maintenance personnel.
This part aims to ensure the safety of UPS installed, operated, and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's specified methods. UPS can be a single UPS unit or an internally interconnected UPS system.
This part does not include DC-powered electronic ballasts (IEC 60924 and IEC 60925) and UPS based on rotating motors.
For general requirements and safety requirements for UPS intended for installation in restricted access areas, see GB 7260.4. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements and definitions are specified in GB 7260.2.
