Scope
This standard is formulated to reduce the earthquake damage to structures, avoid casualties, and minimize economic losses after urban bridges are reinforced against earthquakes. This standard applies to urban bridges and arch bridges with spans not exceeding 150m in areas with basic earthquake intensities of 6, 7, 8, and 9. Suspension bridges, cable-stayed bridges, and large-span arch bridges can be designed in accordance with the earthquake design principles provided in this standard.
