Scope

This standard specifies the design, construction, quality inspection and acceptance, maintenance and management of lightning protection for bridges.
This standard applies to the design, construction, acceptance, and maintenance and management of lightning protection devices for newly built, renovated, or expanded steel or reinforced concrete bridges, such as beam bridges, arch bridges, rigid frame bridges, cable-stayed bridges, suspension bridges, etc.
This standard does not apply to wooden bridges, masonry bridges, overpasses, pedestrian bridges, elevated bridges, and high-speed railway bridges for lightning protection.
Other existing bridges with assessed lightning disaster risks may refer to this standard for implementation.
