GB/T 16731-2023 Classification of sound absorption property for absorbent products using in buildings

Scope

This document specifies the calculation method of the weighted sound absorption coefficient for evaluating the sound absorption performance of building acoustic products, the presentation of the results, and the grading of sound absorption performance. This document applies to all building acoustic products tested according to GB/T 20247 and using the sound absorption coefficient as the evaluation parameter. This document does not apply to discrete sound absorbers tested according to GB/T 20247 and using the sound absorption quantity as the evaluation parameter, such as seats, spatial sound absorbers, etc. The weighted sound absorption coefficient specified in this document can be applied to the evaluation of the sound absorption performance of building acoustic products used in places such as factories, office spaces, schools, or hospitals for the purpose of sound absorption and noise reduction. However, it is not suitable for the evaluation of the sound absorption performance of building acoustic products used in places such as auditoriums, concert halls, theaters, etc. for the purpose of controlling sound quality. In this case, it is only appropriate to provide complete sound absorption coefficient data varying with frequency.
