Scope

This document describes a method for determining the ability of insulating oil to release or absorb gas in a gas-separation tank of a specific geometry, under the action of an electric field (or ionization) strong enough to cause oil-gas interface discharge.
This document is applicable to the testing of the gas separation properties of mineral insulating oil, natural ester insulating oil, synthetic ester insulating oil, and silicone-based insulating oil.
